Abstract

Phenologic and ecofisiologic researches have been carriedon the ontogenetic cycle of Quercus ilex L.. The acom gennination has been under observation both in lab at different temperatures and in the field at natural conditions. The results showed that Hol1y Oak has a gennination delay going between 80 days at 5° e, to 28 day'S at 20° C. The delay in dispersal occurring between December and January and in gennination defers the times of the shoot differentiation and growth at the end of April connected with the values . of temperature next to 15° C. The vegetative awakening of fue buds and the anthesis take place between April and May when the soil moisture storage are plentiful. The following phenophases occur from June to the end of November. Holly Oak occupies the stations of the mediterranean area where temperature se'quences make the phenophases synchronous with the water availability of the soil.
